Portfolio strategy and world-class managers
A portfolio built around your currency, timeline and obligations, using institutional-grade managers normally reserved for far larger mandates.
Cross-border wealth management for Northern Europeans living, retiring or investing abroad.
I help clients get their pensions, investments and structures right for where they actually live — so they stop paying tax they never needed to, and get to enjoy the life they moved for.
In every case the money was arranged for a life that has since changed, and nobody went back to look.
Approaching an exit, or holding the proceeds of one. Where you are resident when it completes can change the outcome by a margin most people never see coming.
Relocating for work, or already abroad with pensions and investments still sitting in a country you no longer live in.
Drawing an income across two tax systems, and thinking carefully about what passes to the next generation, and how.
Nine areas where cross-border wealth is most often left on the table. Most clients arrive with two or three live at once.
A portfolio built around your currency, timeline and obligations, using institutional-grade managers normally reserved for far larger mandates.
Schemes left behind in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands or the UK. What should move, what should stay, and what each choice costs.
Holding investments in vehicles recognised and efficient where you actually live. Usually the single largest difference in an outcome.
Borrowing against assets rather than selling them, so a property purchase or an opportunity does not force a disposal at the wrong moment.
A business sale, an exit, an inheritance. The months around a liquidity event decide more about the outcome than the years that follow it.
Exit charges, treaty positions, 183-day thresholds, reporting and currency exposure. The rules that decide the outcome are rarely the headline rate.
Keeping ownership clear and defensible across jurisdictions, for families whose assets and members sit in more than one country.
Giving structured so it is efficient where you live, and durable enough to outlast you.
Succession across borders, where two tax systems may both take a view. Planned early this is solvable. Left late, it rarely is.
There is no cost to you at any point in this process. You become a client only if you decide the advice is worth having.
We go through where things stand today. Assets, pensions, income, residency, timeline, obligations, and what you actually want the next twenty years to look like. Nothing to prepare and no documents required. Mostly I listen and ask questions.
I return with a written view of your position: what is working, what is exposed, what could be structured differently, and what each option means in real numbers. Where specialist counsel is needed, I say so rather than guess.
A follow-up to work through whatever is still open. If it makes sense, we implement and I manage the relationship from there. If it does not, I will tell you plainly and we leave it there. Either way the analysis is yours to keep.
A compressed earning window, transfers across jurisdictions, and a career that can end in a season. It is the same work I do every day — it simply arrives faster, and on a shorter clock.
I played professional tennis until 2020, so I have been through the short half of this myself.

Exit taxation, the ten-year rule and SINK, and why a company sale alongside a move is where it most often goes wrong.

What these three have in common is not scale. It is that each of them looked at the structure before the move rather than after it, and that is where the difference was made.
A Swedish client with a working life of pension savings, and no fixed idea of where he wanted to spend it.
His pension sat in Sweden, where the rules decided when he could draw, how much, and how it would be taxed. Every option he was interested in — retiring somewhere warmer, drawing earlier, leaving something behind — ran into a rule written for someone else’s life.
We transferred the pension out of Sweden into an offshore structure, having first established what would be given up as well as gained. The transfer was never the point. What it made possible afterwards was.
He did not just move a pension. He bought himself options he did not have before.
A couple leaving Switzerland to retire in Barcelona, with the decision made and the structure untouched.
Like most people, they had written Spain off as a high-tax country and assumed retiring there would simply cost them. Nobody had told them that Spain writes real advantages into law for arriving residents, or that almost all of them depend on decisions taken before residency begins.
We structured a compliant foreign pension arrangement recognised under Spanish rules, put in place ahead of the move, and aligned the wider portfolio with the regime they were about to enter rather than the one they were leaving.
They are living in the country they always wanted, and paying less than they did in Switzerland.
A Norwegian client planning a retirement in southern Italy, three years out.
It was the best question I was asked that year. Norway taxes unrealised gains on departure and applies a wealth tax for as long as you remain. Three years is not early. Three years is the entire opportunity, because almost everything worth doing has to be done while you are still resident.
A restructuring exercise rather than a transfer. We mapped which holdings fell inside the exit tax net and which sat outside it, reviewed where a disposal and reacquisition would reset the cost base to his advantage while still Norwegian resident, and moved future growth into an assurance wrapper so it accrued inside a structure rather than on a personal balance sheet exposed to wealth tax.
The clients who do best are rarely the wealthiest. They are the ones who called early.
Real cases, anonymised. Every situation turns on its own facts, and tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and can change.
Three years ago I left Copenhagen for Marbella. More sunshine, a more entrepreneurial environment, and yes, a considerably better tax position.
What I did not fully appreciate until I began advising others is how much the financial outcome depends on timing and structure. Not just where you go, but what you do in the months before you go.
I am a finance graduate, originally from Copenhagen, with a background in elite sport and earlier experience advising on real estate investment. I now work with internationally mobile individuals and families across Europe. Some are relocating. Some have been here for years and simply want a second opinion on a setup nobody has looked at in a while.
My view is a simple one: most people overpay for years because nobody looked at their pensions, investments and residency rules together, early enough. My job is making sure that conversation happens before a move, not after.
Experience working with Danish, Swedish and Norwegian clients, in their own language where it helps.
Based in Marbella, working with clients across Spain and the wider European market.
Access to the infrastructure, investment solutions and international network of a global wealth-management group.
I advise as part of deVere Group, one of the world’s largest independent financial advisory organisations. For you that means regulated advice, and access to institutional-grade structures and fund managers at a fraction of the cost usually reserved for the very wealthy. That is deliberately deVere’s model, and it is the reason I work there rather than anywhere else.
Cross-border planning turns on the detail of two systems at once: the one you left, and the one you joined.
